Taosign Description Natamycin50%G is a natural antifungal that natamycin mixed in glucose. Natamycin is a fungicidal antimycotic of the polyene macrolide group. It is produced by the species of Streptomyces and multistep extracted. Application areas Natamycin50%G is effective in a variety of food products across a wide range of pH levels(3.5-9.5).Natamycin is currently approved by the FDA for use on the surface of cuts and slices of cheese where the standards for such cheese provides for the use of safe and suitable mold inhibiting ingredients. According FDA,72.155, 1994. spraying 200-300mg/kg water solution on the surface of the cheese slice. Potential benefits Natamycin is an effective anti-microbial agent. Comparing with sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, which have several advantages: ● Enhance the quality of food product, and significantly extend the shelf life of foods by preventing yeast and mould spoilage. ● Reduce product being recalled resulting from spoilage (and reduces manufacturing costs) ● Replace, partially replace chemical preservatives and meet consumer demand for food preserved with natural ingredients. ● Have no adverse flavour to foods, usually sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate affect foods flavor a litte bitter sour. ● Have stronger inhibitability comparing with sorbic acid ● Prevent formation of potentially carcinogenic mycotoxins ● Cover a very broad spectrum of activity -- most yeasts and moulds are sensitive to very low levels of the preservative (<1 - 20 ppm) ● Do not act against bacteria .This makes it useful for food products such as cheese and dry sausages in which bacteria are key to the ripening process ● Remain on food surface for a long time where contamination usually occurs. ● Be proven to be a safe antimycotic agent. Natamycin is an antiseptic with lower cost and higher efficiency. ● Higher security: The antisepsis mechanism and application practice of natamycin have approved that it is very safe to human and animal, in addition to being allowed by FDA in USA, which allowed in Europe, South America, worldwide. ● Wide PH scope: Natamycin is workable in PH 3-9. ● Higher cooperat-with function: Natamycin can produce the best effect by using together with other antiseptics. Usage levels The recommended dosages is in the range 4—40 mg per kg or litre of food. Exact dosage depends on the nature of the product for which it is intended Usage Method Natamycin50%G can be added directly to the food as a dry powder or a pre-suspension in water or alcohol, meanwhile which can be added to heat processed foods by thorough dispersion in the food substrate. Avoid temperature more than 100℃.
